These are examples of CSU-CHILL data selected from meteorologically interesting cases. The data plots generally have had some basic level of post-processing applied (i.e., calculations of derived fields, utilization of specialized base maps, etc.)

High time resolution RHI scans through a developing thunderstorm: 30 May 2009
During an Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) project, CSU-CHILL RHI scans were visually directed towards developing cumulus clouds. Time lapse RHI images of reflectivity radial velocity, and differential reflectivity at 75 second (1:15) intervals are shown.
An example of reflectivity-based rain rate over-estimation due to ice hydrometeor contamination on 18 August 2009
Thunderstorm precipitation with reflectivity levels of 45 - 50 dBZ and specific propagation differential phase values of ~0.5 deg / km was observed over the Denver area. Plots demonstrationg the resultant differences between the rain rate estimates calculated from the reflectivity and Kdp data are shown.
Macroburst radial velocity pattern on 23 July 2009
A divergent radial velocity pattern was observed in a low elevation PPI scan through a thunderstorm precipitation shaft on 23 July 2009.
High rain rates at Denver International Airport on 23 June 2009
The CSU-CHILL radar detected large specific differential propagation phase (Kdp) values over Denver International Airport while heavy rain was being observed there on 23 June 2009.
Melting hail signatures on 8 July 2008
Dual polarization patterns associated with melting hail are shown in an RHI scan through the lower portion of a thunderstorm precipitation shaft.

Radar Echoes from Wind Turbines (TN-004)
Wind Turbines have become increasingly common in recent years. Their Doppler spectral characteristics are presented, along with an animation showing the repetitive patterns present in the turbine spectra. An audio presentation of the same data is also available, clearly showing the temporal variation of the echo. A brief discussion on the effects of wind turbine proliferation on radar meteorology is also presented.
Coherent Leakage (TN-003)
This is a short discussion on coherent leakage, discussing the various causes of coherent leakage in weather radar receivers. Some troubleshooting tips are also provided.
