Bright Band. CSU-CHILL RHI scan through a near-surface bright band located just east of the radar on 17 November 2017. Data are from the X-band channel and have been interpolated to a Cartesian grid in the RHI plane. Reflectivity (top) is enhanced as the frozen hydrometeors melt.
