Radome Inflation Day Feb 19, 2008

The crane lifts the radome base to clear the end of the feed boom.

Pull ropes expanding base.

Crane continues to lower the dome Ratcheting "come along" cable pullers are used to drag the radome base out to the tie down ring. The base of the radome is clamped to the steel tie down ring. Once the base is fully clamped to the foundation, the inflation blowers are started. Dome shape after 10 minutes of inflation. Dome shape after the next 10 minutes of inflation. Unlacing the temporary panel that closes the normal airlock entryway into the dome. The offset feed antenna inside the dome. Protective canvas tarps are still in place. Installing the red FAA obstruction light at the top of the dome.
