CSU-CHILL Casebook: 2 June, 2005
Thunderstorms were fairly widespread in the CSU-CHILL coverage area during the afternoon of 2 June 2005. At 2200 UTC a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for a storm near Berthoud. (A thunderstorm RHI scan was done through this storm at 2209:36.) At 2224 UTC the right flank of the storm displayed a well defined microburst pattern centered at azimuth 216 degrees / range 24 km. (See example VCHILL image below.) The associated reflectivity core also had a small-scale bow shape at this time.
