CSU-CHILL Casebook: 10 September, 2006

Isolated thunderstorm passed Bringi's 2DVD at the NOAA Platteville site around 2220 UTC. A second period of very light (approximately 10 dBZ) rain passed the disdrometer about 20 minutes after the thunderstorm. During the final hour of data collection, a developing cluster of thunderstorms reached the KDEN airport area. Real time patterns indicate that increased over the eastern half of the airfield around 2240 UTC. METARS had the visibility decreasing to 1/4 sm at 2342.
