Long track supercell moved towards the SSE along a track over northeast Colorado that ran approximately from north of Merino to the Akron area. SPC reports included a tornado 7 miles northwest of Merino at 2327 UTC and 2.75 inch diameter hail 1 mile east of Akron at 0025 UTC. Considerable structural and crop damage due to hail, as well as localized accumulations of flash flooding debris, were documented during a post storm survey of the Merino - Atwood area.
