Reflectivity (upper panel) and differential reflectivity (Zdr; lower panel) data observed in a CSU-CHILL RHI scan through an early May thunderstorm. Near 0 dB Zdr values associated with quasi-spherical ice particles nearly reach the surface in the central echo core.
