High Park Fire High Park Fire

Sun setting behind the smoke plume of the High Park fire as observed from the CSU-CHILL radar site near 02 UTC on 23 June 2012. Echoes from ash and debris lofted by fire-driven updrafts, and microwave noise radiation from the sun, are both present in the reflectivity data.
