A light weight foil-covered sphere provides a target with a known backscattering cross section that is used as a reference during a radar calibration experiment.

UCAR 50th Anniversary Open House: Jun 6, 2010
Open House at NCAR
NCAR hosted an open house in honor of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR). Real time displays of data from the CSU-CHILL and EOL S-POL radars were presented to the open house visitors.
REU 2010 Program: Jun 1, 2010

Students in Prof. Chandra's REU program received a technical introduction to meteorological radars during their visit to the CSU-CHILL radar.
NSF Users' Workshop: Jun 15-17, 2009
The CSU-CHILL Facility will be represented at the NSF Users' Workshop with a poster and a live demonstration of remote radar operation.

The CHILL Facility will be hosting an open-house event in support of the NSF Users' Workshop, conducted at NCAR.
Distributed Version Control system
The current version control system used on CHILL, cvs, will be going away soon. This will be replaced by the Git system.
