An area of severe thunderstorms approached the city of Greeley from the southwest around 0200 UTC. Strong, low level outflow winds developed as the storm began to affect the city. Considerable roof and tree damage was incurred. The vertical structure of the approaching gust front can be seen in the 0210 UTC RHI scans. The thunderstorm outflow generated a well defined arcus cloud that was photographed from the CHILL radar site. The radar was located between the gust front / fine line and the main precipitation core at 0225 UTC. By 0347 UTC, strong convection had become quite widespread across much of the CHILL radar's northeast azimuth quadrant.
