CSU-CHILL is a research meteorological radar system funded by the National Science Foundation and hosted by Atmospheric Science (ATS) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Departments at Colorado State University.  The radar operates at an 11 cm wavelength (S-Band) using a dual linear polarization (either horizontal or vertical electric field orientation) antenna.  For maximum data collection flexibility, the horizontal (H) and vertical (V) antenna ports are driven with separate, identical Kylstron transmitters.  The H and V return signals are routed through separate receiver and digital signal processing system.  The polarimetric data colected by the CSU-CHILL radar has been extensively used for both atmospheric science interests (i.e., precipitation formation, severe weather detection, etc.) as well as digital signal processing investigations (pulse compression techniques, clutter filtering methods, etc.)  Access to the CSU-CHILL Facility and its archived data is available to the general research and education communities.
