CSU-CHILL Casebook: 3 July, 2006

Several areas of thunderstorm development in the general area between the S-POL and CHILL radars. One area of cell development was over Bringi's 2DVD site near Platteville. CHILL went into parked antenna time series mode as this took place. (Post analysis showed that the disdrometer data were affected by strong winds and hail.) The REFRACTT mobile sounding van also attempted to make a balloon launch from the CHILL site near 2300 UTC; gusty outflow winds prevented the launch.
