WXlog/20030619 Heavy Rain

From CHILL

Jump to: navigation, search

Multiple thunderstorms developed along a line in the southeast quadrant of the CHILL radar. At the image time shown below, large differential propagation phase shift was noted due to high rain rates (see cursor at azimuth 125 deg / 56 km range). Two additional radial velocity features are present: A divergence signature within the first range ring, and a cyclonic rotation pattern near the southern edge of the echo complex.
