Completed Pawnee radar installation. The foreground trailer housed a diesel standby power generator. This trailer was obtained from the NCAR surplus equipment stock. The Pawnee FPS-18 transmitter and radar operator areas were located inside the more distant trailer (with air conditioners projecting from the front wall). The Pawnee was an S-band system, it primarily provided radial velocity observations at a non-attenuating wavelength that supported dual Doppler operations with CSU-CHILL.
